About Wilmer Carl Anderson
Wilmer Carl Anderson, 76, 833 S Meridian, died Sunday at Bingham Memorial Hospital of a heart attack.
He was born at Wahoo, NE may 27, 1902, to Carl E and Hulda (Lindgren) Anderson. In 1911, he moved with his parents to a homestead near Winner, SD. He was educated in schools in SD.
He moved to Idaho in 1935 with his brother, where he spent several years as an independent trapper.
In 1938, he began trapping for the Fish and Wildlife Service as a mammal control agent. He was stationed in Custer County near Challis for more than 25 years. During World War II, he worked other jobs to aid in the war effort. He continued as a government trapper until his retirement in 1966. After retirement and until his death he still enjoyed trapping in the fall months with his brother Enfred.
On June 1, 1977, Mr Anderson married Tressie Sibbitt Goeden, Blackfoot, at Pocatello.
He enjoyed traveling, restoring antique furniture and rock shows, as well as his family. He aided many nieces and nephews in their education efforts.
Survivors include his wife, Blackfoot; four brothers, Enfred Anderson, Moreland; Edwin Anderson, Barger, TX; Maynard Anderson, Lakewood, CA; and Clarence Anderson, Pacific Beach, CA; two sisters, Edith Nyquist, Long Beach, CA; and Lillian Graham, Ashland, NE. He was preceded in death by a brother, Martin Anderson and a sister, LaVern Tybaur.
Funeral Services will be 2pm Thursday at Sandburg Hill Funeral Chapel with Pastor Richard Balsiger of the First Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 7-8pm Wednesday.
Burial will be in the Riverside Thomas Cemetery.
