Winfield Kennedy Boggs, Jr

Winfield Kennedy Boggs, Jr., age 83 of Hawthorne, Fl. passed away at his home on Thursday March 12, 2009. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on November 2, 1925. He joined the United States Marine Corps at age 15, served at Guadalcanal, then after six years joined the U.S. Air Force and served until 1967, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He received the Veteran of the Year award in 2000.

He lived in Tampa, FL. for 18 years and lived 22 years in Hawthorne, FL. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Boggs. His son Wayne Boggs and his family, his daughter Ruth Ann Morrison and her family, and his son Wade Boggs and his family, his eight grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Sunday, March 15, 2009 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at the Blount Curry Funeral Home, 3207 Bearss Ave. Tampa, Florida (813) 968-2231, with a Memorial Service following at 6:00 PM. Graveside services will be held privately with full military honors on Monday March 16, 2009 for family only.
