Winifred Cobb formerly Wooten
Lydia Randolph was identified as the daughter of Jesse Randolph and wife of William Wooten by her father in a document dated 7 Jan 1820 (Pttt Co., NC DB EE, p. 360).
Their heirs were identified by a deed made in 1831 and recorded in 1832 (Edgecombe Co., DB 20, pp. 252-253). Excerpt as follows:
"William Wooten died intestetate.... his heirs and their representatives (VIZ) John Sparkman and wife Nancy, Redding Corbitt and wife Levinney, Thomas Felton and wife Tilitha, Gray Cobb and wife Winney, Elizabeth Wooten, Howel Wooten, William Wooten agent for Levi and Ivy Wooten and guardian for Tamsey Wooten and Nancy, William and Lewis Sparkman in right of their mother Zilphy Sparkman divided by unanimous consent expose said Tract of land at publick auction on the 20th day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one when and where Gray Cobb of the County and State aforesaid became the last and highest bidder in the consideration of the sum of Nine hundred and one Dollars to us in hand paid the receipt whereof we the heirs of the said William Wooten and hereby acknowledge have Sold Conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents do sell convey and convey unto the said Gray Cobb all our right title and interest... "

Winifred Wooten
On 28 Jan 1845, Amos II was bonded to marry his brother's widow Fanny Wooten, his bondsman being his own son Spencer W. Wooten.

She married John Cobb Bef. 1813 in Edgecombe CO., NC.Winifred Wooten, born 1801; died December 04, 1865.
She married Gray Cobb; born July 05, 1803; died September 20, 1858.
Gray Cobb, son of Stephen Cobb, b. 1803 m. Winifred "Winney" Wooten and migrated to Mississippi.? (Note: Gray's older brother was Peter May Cobb, son of Stephen Cobb,b.1797 who migrated to Jefferson Co., AL and later to Bibb Co., Alabama.)
Do you know who Winifred Gray's parents were? She must have been a great lady as it has become a family name in my family.
Amos Wooten was also my ancestor thru Gray Cobb's wife, Winifred Wooten. In fact, I joined the DAR based on the Amos Wooten lineage.
