Obituary

Winona W. Moore, 89, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Briarfield at the Ridge. She was born October 30, 1921 in Warren, a daughter of the late Charles Fredenberg and the late Cora Clark Fredenberg.

Winona was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and attended the Parkman Road First Assembly of God Church. She was a homemaker, gardener, and an avid supporter of the Ohio teams of the Browns, the Indians, and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

One thing she will be most remembered for was her skill as a gardener. In fact, there was not a plant, flower, tree, or flowering bush that she could not bring back to life, both indoors and outdoors. She won many Trumbull County Fair Agricultural ribbons, and first place ribbons for her roses, house plants, arrangements, and vegetables. Winona was a past President of the Trumbull County Rose Society, the Trumbull County Iris Society, and was a Master Certified Judge for both societies and made many trips with colleagues to judge flower shows around the state of Ohio and as far away as Michigan. She enjoyed sharing her personal rewards and green thumb talents with all of her society friends.

Winona is survived by her sons, Timothy (Deanne) Moore of Warren, Thomas (Georganna) Moore of Clearwater, Florida, and Terrance (Laureen) Moore of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, 7 grandchildren, Robert, Daniel, Thomas, Ryan, Bradley, Carley, and Austin Moore and 4 great grandchildren, Christopher, Jessica, Jillian, and Brayden Moore. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Moore, whom she married March 3, 1942 and preceded her in 1996, a grandson, Scott Moore, one brother and one sister.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 16, 2011 at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Rev. John Temple will officate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
