About Winston Manohar Karkada
Born in the little town of karkala , Manohar karkada completed his education from BM School and Bhuvanendra college of karkala. He joined Hebich technical training institute mangalore as a clerk and thereby relocated to Mangalore. As a member of the shanthi cathedral, Balmatta,Manohar was actively involved in the church activities. Because of his glowing complexion he was fondly called Bili uncle by his sunday school students( Til the end of his days they used to address him so, and the funny part is,the children of his sunday school students also call him bili uncle). Being an ardent lover of music he played violin for the Balmatta musical association and also sang Bass at the choir. As a secretary of the YMPU(Young Men's Prayer Union) along with the then President of YMPU Mr Denzil Karkada, they took initiative and got the YMPU Hall constructed in Balmatta. He then took up job at Indian Overseas bank, Mangalore. After marriage, he was transferred to Dharwad. Entralled by the ambience of absolute calm n tranquility of Dharwad he decided to settle down there, though he had to move to bombay, goa and belgaum on transfers. He later retired as the Bank Manager. He along with few other retired members of the church took up initiative to organise coaching classes free of cost for SSLC students. This was started with intention of coaching financially poor students and the students of the orphanage associated with the church. This was a success as many teachers volunteered to teach in these classes though they werent paid. He slept in the lord on Feb8th 2009..He lives in our hearts forever.
He who is loved by all, is loved by God too.
