Wolf Velvel Volco Eisenstein

Wolf Eisenstein came to the US in 1896 along with his wife Fanny and their children. They came from Manchester UK where they had lived from the early 1890's, having originally come from Bessarabia (today is Moldova). Wolf came to Philadelphia alone at first in 1896 after receiving news that his widowed mother was gravely ill (in the Minneapolis MN area).

According to the family story, when Wolf arrived in Philadelphia he found out that his mother had already passed away and been laid to rest in MN. Finding Philadelphia to his liking, he sent word back to Manchester for his wife and children to pack their bags and join him.

Arrival records showed that the destination of Wolf, Fanny and the children was Frank and Rose Malickson in Philadelphia. Frank (Ephraim) Malickson was Fanny's brother.
