Brief overview:
Wynand (45), a well-known South African singer and songwriter, was shot dead at his farm in Nuy Valley, between Worcester and Robertsham, Western Cape, around 22h30 on 3rd July 2020. He was shot in the chest.
According to information police attended the complaint and upon their arrival the found the a body of a man aged 45 with gunshot wound to his chest. Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana; SAPS Western Cape Media Centre.
Details surrounding the shooting are still being uncovered, but it is believed that Wynand and his partner, John Sinclaire, were out and arrived back at the farm around 22h00, AfriForum’s head of safety in the Western Cape, Thomas Van Dalen said. John went to open the house, while Breedt parked the car. As John opened the door, there was a man in the doorway inside the house with a firearm, and he slammed the door closed.
The suspects fled taking nothing.
"Wynand also taught music lessons all over the Western Cape. His music career began when he first sang soprano as an eight-year-old boy. He was a member of several choirs, including the Tygerberg Children's Choir, to which he joined at the age of 13. At the beginning of his singing career, he participated in annual Eisteddfods and singing competitions. He joined the Cape Youth Choir as the first soprano when he was 15, but quickly changed to a bass."
