Zakaria Bhuiya

Bhuiya worked in Christchurch as a welder. He was killed on his birthday at the Al Noor Masjid. Bhuiya had taken the day off work to celebrate, according to a fundraising page set up by his employer, AMT Mechanical Services, to benefit his family. Bhuiya had been working in New Zealand to provide for his family, including his wife, back in Bangladesh. “He lived on the bare basics in order to maximise the money he could send home to support his family,” the fundraising page said.
