About Zelman Gersz Bramson
Perished in the Holocaust.
Update August 2018: Joseph Aviram, age 102, told me the story of how his parents, his brother, Mordechai, the witness on the Yad ve-Shem testimony, and his aunt and uncle tried to escape the Nazis. I don't know if it was Zelman and his wife or not. Zelman's wife was an Abramsky.
Yad ve-Shem database says: "Zalman Bramzon was born in 1869. He was a shop owner and married to Gila nee Abramski. Prior to WWII he lived in Przerosl, Poland. During the war he was in Przerosl, Poland. Zalman perished in 1940 in Biala Podlaska, Poland at the age of 72. This information is based on a Page of Testimony (displayed on left) submitted by his nephew." Nephew is Mordechai Abramsky. Zalman died of disease. He was born in 1869.
I (Hatte Rubenstein Blejer) visited his children in Netanya, Israel in 1969 and they talked about my great grandfather (Harry Frankel) and great aunt (Janet Frankel Wallk) visit in 1929, the last time they saw our family. They showed me photographs of their parents, who "Hitler killed". I did meet some of the grandchildren of Zelman Gersz as well, I believe the Herbet family. I stayed with them a day or two. Since it was Netanya, I assume that I visited with Isiah and his wife. I also thought that someone in the family had changed their last name to Ze'ev or Ze'evi. [Hatte Blejer]
