Mrs. Zoe Langston, 72 years old of 19 North 11 Street, Van Buren, Arkansas, died Sunday, January 22, 1967 in a local rest home. She had been in poor health for the past few months having suffered several strokes and a broken hip.
Mrs. Langston was born July 18, 1894 at Alma, Arkansas and was the daughter of Wilse and Jory Hatley Meadors. She had been a resident of Crawford county all of her life and was a member of the Van Buren Garden Club. She was a member of First Baptist church where she formerly taught the Bethany Sunday School class.
Survivors are two sons, D. M. of Van Buren and Harold, a physician of Little Rock; four brothers, Floyd of Van Buren, Monroe of Duncan, Oklahoma, Ramie of Lead Hill, Arkansas and Clegg of Laton, California; four sisters, Carrie of Alma, Renna of Oklahoma City, Lou of Cookson, Oklahoma, and Ava of Venice, California and nine grandchildren.
The body was taken to the First Baptist church Tuesday afternoon to lie in state one hour before the funeral at 2 p.m.. The pastor Bruce Cushman, officiated. A nephew, R. C. Meadors, sang two of Mrs. Langston's favorite songs. Burial was in Gracelawn cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.
