SCHAEFER, Albert (Al). Flight navigator WWII. Fisherman extraordinaire. Peacefully, in his eighty-seventh year, on Friday, February 6, 2009. Devoted companion of Joy Rutenberg. Beloved father and father-in-law of Suzanne and Paul Bregman, Richard and Dori, Steven and Susan, and the late Maureen Schaefer. Dear grandfather of Tamara, Marni and Jesse, Dara, Gila and Ilan, Talya, David, Rina, Cindy, Rebecca, Brett, Ethan. Devoted great grandfather of Ari, Erin and Morgan. Predeceased by his brother Anatole and sister Ella Sax. Al will be sadly missed by his much loved nieces and nephews, and by Linda Rutenberg and Roger Leeon, Carl and Laurie Rutenberg, Mona Rutenberg and Howard Bokser, Samara and Jonathan, Jeremy, Rory and Jessy. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, February 8 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Haboneh Hahofshi Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva to be announced. Donations in his memory may be made to the Beit Halochem, Aid to Disabled Veterans of Israel, (800) 355-1648.
