Ettlinger sometimes slips and puts a grandmother’s name where a mother’s name should be, and that is what happened here. Two of the pages of the Kessel House section are devoted to Josel’s ancestry, and the tree clearly shows that it was Feivisch, not Gumpert, who was married to the daughter of Bunim Schaff. So it was just a slip of the typewriter.
