Hi- Does anyone have any documentation at all that this Anne Jennings was the Anne who married George Bledsoe? Seems so unlikely that George would marry a noblewoman. Thank you for any information.

Is this George the father of Rush Bledsoe 1749 Granville, father of Alice?

Carolyn, I have a Geo Bledsoe married 1773 in Bute N Carolina an Annie Cupples 1755-1831 but have not guarantee on correctness.

Carolyn Ruth Holmes, Where did you find that she was a noblewoman.?

7/5/2013 at 1:17 AM

Well one George Bledsoe b 1635 married a Jennings, but I believed her to be Joannah not Anne. Their descendent George b 1745 married Anne Cupples. If Carolyn has any more interest in learning about this matter, then I think she should state birth dates as George was obviously a favourite first name in that family!

Perhaps the best way to figure this out is to find out who married Ann Jennings, daughter of Edward Jennings and Margaret Barkham.

This shows Ann Jenings, daughter of Edmund and Margaret as dying in England.......

She might have come to Virginia with her brother......
Gov. Edmund Jennings

Looks like her brother came after George Bledsoe's children were born. So not likely.

I've found multi worlds & crossed brush studios both to be careful compilers. It's a tough area.

George's Will it says
I give to my loving wife Eliza. Bledsoe all that estate she finds upon the plantation she brought along with her. George Bledsoe

I, too, noticed that the Will states that his wife was Eliza. If Anne Jennings was his second wife (I think I saw somewhere that she was his second wife), then why would it say Eliza. Perhaps Elizabeth was his only wife, and the mother of his children.

I have seen nothing so far that proves that Anne Jennings ever married.

I'm curious about what changed yesterday when this profile was merge with another, because before then, he was my 7th great grandfather and now he's my 7th cousin, 10 times removed.

7/6/2013 at 5:35 PM

I read around and Ann Jennings is suppose to be George's first wife. So the Will saying Eliza makes sense to me now.

Is the profile you are talking about George Bledsoe? I wouldn't think that merges would change your relationship to any of these people. Something being detached anywhere between you and him would do this. Have you checked the pathway between you and him?

Sorry, Linda, I was talking about Edmund Jennings. I guess that this discussion is linked to that profile.

7/6/2013 at 6:24 PM

This is the only profile I remember disconnecting while working in that area of the tree, but I don't think he is the reason for your change because he doesn't appear to be in your direct line to Edmund Jennings.

Richard Grymes

Do you remember

Linda Kathleen Thompson

To be honest, I don't remember if Richard Grymes was on my tree. Edmund Jenings is in a line that I need to do a lot more research on, so until I find differently, I'm sure that whatever happened was correct. Thank you for your help!
