Krüger, Kruger or Krueger (without the Umlaut Ü) are German surnames originating from Krüger, meaning tavern-keeper in Low Saxon or potter in High German.

Low German or Low Saxon (Plattdüütsch, Nedderdüütsch; Standard German: Plattdeutsch or Niederdeutsch; Dutch: Nedersaksisch in the wider sense, see Nomenclature below) is an Ingvaeonic[4] West Germanic language spoken mainly in northern Germany and the eastern part of the Netherlands. It is descended from Old Saxon in its earliest form.

The historical Sprachraum of Low German also included contemporary northern Poland, the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia, and a part of southern Lithuania. German speakers in this area were forcibly expelled after the post-World War II border changes. The former German communities in the Baltic states also spoke Low German. Moreover, Middle Low German was the lingua franca of the Hanseatic League, and it had a significant influence on the Scandinavian languages.

Just a warning: most coat of arms and stories on houseofnames.com are fake, - produced by them self based on how often a name is search for. The main purpose of that page is to sell products.
I made a test once: The Brox surname did not exist in their "archive", and we don't have a coat of arm, but I and some other started to feed Brox to their search engine and after a while they suddenly returned a result... so now I have a family crest and a story behind the name - NOT ;-) The worse part is that someone not even related copied that info to the Geni surname page,
