Per Gloria Johnson (Hallmark):

George’s public service claim in VA allows joining the DAR or SAR under him. The MS territory list shows
George Hallmark Sr and George Hallmark Jr., his son. The Mexican land grant shows that George Jt., now
listed as George W received land in TX in Houston County, near Crockett. I question why George W is
interpreted as George William and sometimes as George Washington. Then the son of George who went
to TX is also George W. I have included some Houston County material as it sorts out the George
business. I do not think that George Wm was really named that. I think he, the son of first George did that
on his own. He had a brother named Wm so I think that is unlikely the name was repeated. You will notice
that George, son of George was originally George Jr.
