Because ftdna->geni do not work.

M231 -> N-FT14480 -> N-FT65448 (bigY). There is now 2 person with this haplog in FTDNA.
Mainly surname Pussinen.

I have a question regarding the Y DNA. A profile for a man who passed away in 1921 and no son showing on the profile has a Y DNA showing. How did this happen?

Merritt Rickman Camp

My paternal brick wall is a woman who married the Camp that is up the line

Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087 it's possible if the DNA was propagated up and down the tree from another male line, for example if Camp's paternal grandfather had a brother who had a son who had a son who had a son who was tested.

The DNA tab on that profile explains this much:

Merritt Rickman Camp is presumed to carry DNA based on test results from other relatives in the family tree:
R1b1a2from 1 relative
Private User. R1b1a2 from Family Tree DNA

clicking on the "View Detail" link to the right takes you to a page where you're supposed to be able to see the propagation, but in this case that appears broken: https://www.geni.com/list/dna_to?focus_id=6000000119972656833&dna_test_type=y

(like maybe that private user was connected along a male line that got cut; the system is supposed to automatically recalculate the propagated DNA when this happens)

I'll see if I can identify the private user and repropagate his Y-DNA, which should fix the problem.

The DNA is still connected, the bug is on the View Detail page. I'll have someone look at it.

Mike Stangel thank you for looking.
While you are at it, there is a Geni user who is female and shows a Y DNA on her profile which she says is her father's. What does one do in this situation? It is the same Geni user who made many profiles No Name and I corrected all that I could find yesterday.
I asked for assistance and was reprimanded by a curator and today he removed my Smart Copy privilege.
Oftentimes, these issues remain because people are afraid to ask for help but my understanding is that Geni is a collaborative site and curators are volunteering to assist to keep the tree as correct as they can by assisting users of the site. I am surprised to see you have replied to this particular issues I posted here. But I appreciate it.
Thank you.

Randy Stebbing that's when the integration with FTDNA broke.
