The Tribe of Simeon lived between Philistia and Edom to the South of Judah. As with all tribes some of the Kohens lived among the Simeonites too. Some Simeonites settled in Africa while others settled in the Roman Empire. Some of these Romaniote Simeonites spread throughout the Mediterranean to become Sephardim while others settled in Ashkenaz (Lesser Armenia). Those in Ashkenaz eventually moved to Eastern Europe where they settled in the Carpathian Basin. E-Y6938 represents a branch of the Kohens who lived among the Romaniote Simeonites which settled in the Carpathian Basin.
