In 1881 we know that William HINE was in Australia married to Mary Elizabeth BURBRIDGE so this family is NOT his family.

Another link of the old pioneer settlers
of this district with the present day was
broken on Tuesday last, when Mr. Wil-
liam Hine, senior, died at his residence on
the racecourse road, where he had resided
during the greater part of his life. Had
he lived until next month (October) he
would have attained his 88th year. He
was born at Reading, England, and came
to Victoria in 1852, in the ill-fated sailing
vessel "Sacramento," which, after being
nearly six months on the voyage out, was
wrecked at Port Phillip heads in sight of
land. Fortunately, no lives were lost, but
Mr. Hine, with his then wife and three
children, lost all their belongings. Not
withstanding this early set-back, Mr. Hine
obtained employment at Glenmore and
Greystones, and afterwards bought the
property on which he died. He was twice
married, and leaves a large grown-up
family of sons and daughters, of which
there are numerous descendants. He was
a particularly kindly Englishman, who
made no enemies.
With the family emigrating to Australia in 1853 (arrived 27/4/1853) and having a son in Australia in 1854 it is not possible for George S Hine born in 1854 in England to be their son.
