I am working on this William Giles and I have a few questions. Do you have documentation that he died and is buried in Jeter - Cadwell Cemetery Amelia County, Virginia. I have seen other data listing that he died shortly before 27 Sep 1794 Amelia County, Virginia.

I have the following documentation:

  • 1. Born: 1727 Henrico County, Virginia
  • 2. Died: May 09, 1799, Rowan County, North Carolina
  • 3. Military Service: Revolutionary War
  • 4. He was in Rowan County, North Carolina by 1757
  • 5. His first wife Mary Mattox Ellis married June 18, 1746, d. January 20, 1805, Rowan County, North Carolina buried on William Giles Plantation
  • 6. Her Parents: John Willis Ellis III and Lucy Mayes died and are buried in Rowan County, North Carolina now Davidson County North Carolina
  • 7. His second wife Anne Branch married 1761 Ameilia County, Virginia (no documentation found), Born: 1730-40 Henrico County, Virginia Died 1770-1794 (Her birth and Death dates are subject to opinion as there are no known documentation to prove this) whether they were not married and had these 2 children or were married and he and Mary were divorced (no know documentation on divorce) she was the second wife and his first wife died in 1805 and was buried with him on his plantation in Rowan County, North Carolina.
