I have removed Robert and Flora McLean as our John’s parents today 25th of March 2024. New Zealand Military records from WW1 for John McLean’s son Alexander Archibold McLean state his father was from Aberdeen in Scotland.
I have no source that proves Robert and Flora were his Parents and they were from Auchinleck as were there children and not Aberdeen.
I also have not been able to establish a source for John’s birth in Scotland at this time.
Research is ongoing here in NZ for immigration records, his marriage certificate to Caroline McAskie here in New Zealand just says both were born in Scotland.
