I'm some how related to Isaac Davis from George Hueu Davis. If anyone out there can help me with filling in my family tree, I would greatly appreciate it. I know it's a lot of work, but I live in Chicago, IL and have a hard time getting back home to go to the Bishop Museum to collect information. My mother's name is Florence Davis, born 19 Feb 1927, in Honolulu. Her father's name was John H. Davis, he died in 1955, in Honolulu, his first wife's name was Fanny Davis who's from Portugal. John's father's name was James Davis, died 1831, at Lahaina, Maui, when he died he was a pastor. From here I don't have any information to really connect our family to Isaac Davis. My mother and uncle told me we were related to Isaac Davis. Where did they get this information from, I don't know.

Hi Mary, here's the funny thing I know James P. Davis 1861-1931 married Fanny Kelii then of course she became Fanny Davis 1869-1909. They had a few children 1 being my 2nd great grandmother Daisy Davis. They also had a son John K. or H. Davis who I believe is your Grandfather. James P. Davis was a christian pastor like you said and there's proof of it in the "The Year book of the Congregational Christian churches of the United States of American. 1929-60" Davis, James, born, Makawao, Maui, Hawaii, 1861. Education: Hono-
Found it while searching online I emailed you a few times so I am know stranger to you...... I to am searching for proof that we are somehow related to Isaac Davis through his son George. I know for a fact that James Davis father was George Davis and his wife's name was a Liberati Kalili there are Documents of their names that I have save on my PC. I believe that to find the connection would have to be through a family member that has the knowledge of the family. But I want to tell you a story that a relative of ours told me. We are descendants of Alii both ways I believe just can't confirm the Davis side yet but through Papa James wife who was a Kelii come's the line of Kainakuawalu also known as Kamanawa II or Opio he was the grandfather of King Kalakaua and our Queen Lily. So Kainakuawalu and Ohelelulaikamoku had a daughter named Nahulanui she married Kaukamoa. Kaukamoa sister was Kamohaula the mother of Henry Opukahaia. So Kaukamoa and Nahulanui had a daughter Kauwe for short or Kauweakanoaakakawalenohaleakalakauweakekiniokoolau I like to call her Tutu Kauwe. But this lineage predate's Kamehameha Kingdom we come from the Kingdom Prior. Its all here on this geni.com just search 1 of those names and you'll see the lineage. But if I find anything new i'll keep you posted. Take Care & God Bless |

I know that George Hueu Davis had 19 children with just 1 wife and I think maybe 2 or 4 with another wife. Online only shows certain ones its possible we come from the ones that are missing and can't find cause we don't know where to look. In his Alii Awarded land Document it stated this info and also that a Bruce Cartwright, and Geo. Awai's Genealogy of Hueu Davis both in AH. Also
Here is the website for Doc http://kanakagenealogy.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/hueu-george-hueu... I live on Maui so I can't go to the Bishop Museum to do research which sucks I think they have some vital info there. Anyways Aloha |
