About Élisabeth-Isabelle Targer

Notes

  • Location info: Aunis, France (birth, marriage), Notre-Dame-de-Québec (marriage), La Sainte-Famille, Isle d'Orléans (death)
    • Note from curator morel: On 2 April 2015, the place of the first marriage was shown as "La Rochelle (Temple protestant)". In 1648, there were two Calvinist temples in La Rochelle: Le Grand Temple (1577-1689) and Temple de la Villeneuve (aka Temple Saint-Eloy) (1630-1685). If you have a source about which temple, please post here. She was also probably baptized in a Calvinist Temple.
    • Note from curator morel: On 2 April 2015, the place of death was shown as 6 février 1671 in « St. Jean, Île d'Orléans ». It is just that Saint-Jean would be founded only later in 1689. In 1671, only the parrish of La Sainte-Famille existed on Isle d'Orléans. Therefore, I set the place of death as La Sainte-Famille. If you have sources that tells a different story, please post them here.
  • Pionnière de la Nouvelle-France. Elle fut une fille à marier
  • Elle était d'abord une calviniste. Elle s'est probablement convertie au catholicisme puisque son deuxième mariage a été catholique.
