Will of Richard Thatcher, Kennett, Chester Co., Pennsylvania

Written July 29, 1762; probated August 24, 1762

Son David to have L30 left by my mother Sarah Thatcher with interest at 21 and 5 shillings of my estate. Remainder to be in the hands of wife Abigail for bringing up the younger children, on her death or marriage to be divided among my 7 children, viz., Hannah, SARAH, Deborah, Susana, Levy, Abigail and Oliver Thatcher. Executors: Wife Abigail and WILLIAM HARVEY. Letters to Harvey, the other renouncing.

Witnesses: Benjamin Taylor, William Cloud, Thomas Carlton

William Harvey was the son of William Harvey, Sr. and Judith Osborne Harvey. William Harvey, Sr. married Judith Osborne, widow of Peter Osborne. Peter and Judith were the grandparents of Samuel Osborne, Jr. who married Sarah, daughter of the Richard and Abigail Roberts Thatcher, named in the will above.

Thomas Carleton was the stepfather of Abigail Roberts Thatcher. Her parents were Robert Roberts and Hannah Howell, sister to Deborah, who married George Boone, brother to Squire.
