Abraham Polak was born in Leeuwarden, a son of Levij Polak and Heintje de Beer. He was unmarried and an office clerk by trade. Before he moved to Amsterdam, Abraham resided in Den Haag at various addresses where he was registered as a commercial clerk. On 27 December 1918 he was registered as living at the address Gerard Doustraat 198 ground floor in Amsterdam where since 1911 the couple Louis Swart and his wife Amelia Polack also lived.

Louis Swart passed away in 1930 and was interred in the Jewish Cemetery in Diemen. His widow Amelia Swart-Polak, a shopkeeper by profession, moved on 16 January 1939 from house nr. 198 to Gerard Doustraat 172 ground floor and Abraham Polak moved with her too. Abraham Polak passed away on 10 August 1941 and was interred in the Jewish Cemetery in Diemen on 12 August 1941.
