About Agueda de la Cruz Esteban

Agueda de la Cruz Esteban procured materials for ammunition for the Katipuneros during the Philippine Revolutionary War. She was the courier between her husband Manuel Barroga and General Artemio Ricarte during the Philippine-American War. Upon her husband's death, she married the exiled Ricarte in Hong Kong and lived a prosperous life in exile in Tokyo for many years. The couple decided to come back to the Philippines during the Japanese occupation. They both died during the war, never seeing the Philippines free from foreign rule.
