First husband was Arthur Hawkins Paul. Lived with her second husband, Fred C. Bartholomew, and their children in Leonia, New Jersey. Moved to Santa Fe in 1977 after her second divorce.
Was still legally Gladys Aileen Phillips in January 1937 but had dropped her first name by September 1942. Legally returned to her birth surname by 12 September 1979. Remained commonly known as Aileen Paul until her death.
