TWO DEAD, NINE HURT, KERN CRASH FEAR INFANT DYING AFTER AUTO SMASH (This was my father) Albert Gregory, 24, and Mrs. George Parks Fatally Injured _____________ GREGORY SON IN LOCAL HOSPITAL ______________ Residents of McFarland, Delano, McKittrick Collision Victims

Two persons are dead, little hope is held for the life of a 17-months-old baby boy and eight others are injured, as result of an automobile crash at a "blind" corner two miles south of Delano on the Pond highway last night. Crushed in the wreckage of a light sedan, Mrs. George Parks, 48 of McFarland, was killed instantly, and Albert Gregory, 24, her son-in-law, also of McFarland, died shortly after being removed to Kern General Hospital in Bakersfield. Albert, Jr., baby son of Gregory, suffered a fractured skull and is not expected to live throught the day. Nine were injured in the accident which completely demolished a light coupe, driven by John A. Baker of McKittrick, and carrying five young girls of the Delano and McFarland area, and the sedan driven by Mr. Gregory. The crash occurred at the intersection of the Pond highway and Garvola road, at 8:30 o'clock last evening.

Surviving Mr. Gregory, in addition to his widow, Nora, and his two children, Helen and Albert, Jr., all of whom were seriously injured, are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gregory of McFarland and seven brothers, three of whom reside in McFarland and four in Texas. The deceased was employed on the C. H. Myers ranch. Funeral arrangements have not been made.

BLIND INTERSECTION

The Baker coupe, with its six passengers, three in the seat and three in the rumble seat, was traveling east on the Pond road, while the Gregory sedan was going south on Garvola, officals reported. Vision at the intersection is obscured by grape vines. coming together with terrific impact, occupants of the heavily loaded machine were scattered all along the road. The coupe truned over several times and landed bottom side up, having thrown the girls out of the rumble seat but pinning others inside. The body was torn off the Gregory sedan. Austin Reynolds, Delano chief of police, asserted that Baker failed to make the boulevard stop at the intersection. he ordered the macnines to be left untouched until this morning, when he sought to make further check of circumstances surrounding the accident. At the same time, arrangements were being made for inquest into the tragedy by Coroner N. C. House.

Father Tragedy Victim

The Audap girls are the daughters of Mrs. Mitchell Audap of Delano. Their father was burned to death in an automobile little more than a year ago. The Sandrinis are daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Ugo Sandrini, who own a dairy farm between McFarland and Pond.
