Alexander and Jennie were first cousins. They lived in Rockbridge Co, VA, then Greenbrier Co,VA on the Meadow River where he drowned. His address was Lewisburg,VA (later WV).

At the age of 44, a year after the birth of his youngest child, Alexander drowned in the Meadow River. (McClung Genealogy, 1904, p. 142)
