Biographical Summary

"(364) Alexander, eighth Lord Elibank, born 26th February 1780; died 9th April 1830. He married, 8th March 1803, Janet, daughter and heiress of John Oliphant of Bachilton and Pitheavlis, Perthshire, who died 9th June 1836, having had : -

• Alexander (No. 365).
• John Oliphant Murray, born 3rd July 1808; died 11th December 1865.
• Thomas Montolieu Murray, born 6th April 181 1 ; died 27th December 1852.
• George Murray, born 18th March 1818; died 3rd June 1833.
• Patrick Oliphant Murray, born 3rd November 1819; died 22nd February 1877. He married, 28th October 1852, Harriet, daughter of James Collom of Hale Bridge Villa, Cornwall, who died 22nd November 1898, and had issue : -
  • Rev. Alexander William Oliphant Murray, born 16th October 1853.
• Henry Augustus Murray, born 3rd September 1822; died 20th December 1824."
