About Summer Eve Stoneking

Summer Eve may have been married to an Indian before she married Johann Jacob Stoneking in a "blanket ceremony" in 1748 near Cumberland, Pennsylvania.

Origins

If born 1726 she’s too young to have been a child of “Queen” Aliquippa, of the Seneca

The following re Jacob's parents sent by Steinkoenig and Stoneking researcher and descendant of Benjamin Stoneking, Ann Johnson #47694564, with thanks.
"I have done much research on the marriage of Jacob and Summer Eve Aliquippa. I've found that the marriage was a blanket Indian marriage and was in the Dutch Corner area of Bedford County, Pa. Summer Eve was buried in the Indian cemetery there. Some years later a dirt road was laid directly over the Indian cemetery. The white cemetery is still maintained today. The Dutch Corner Historical Society has a lot of good info. There has been confusion between Summer Eve with Indian Eve; they are not the same person.
I grew up in western Pa. and was taken to all these graves many times." (Note, Ann also indicated there was no son named William, as often shown.)

It's my understanding that Johann Jakob Steinkonig married Queen Aliquippa's DAUGHTER, an S. Aliquippa (perhaps Summer Eve? not sure about her name), but it was definitely the DAUGHTER, not Queen Aliquippa herself.
