About Allen Clayton Deppe
Biography as written by Esther Deppe in October of 1979:
"After marriage, he continued to live in Albrightsville while raising his family, working as a farmer during planting and harvesting season, and as Lumberman during the colder months. As his children grew big enough to help, he took them along to the fields and forests, teaching them the skills he had learned. He and his wife Hulda always went to Church and Sunday-school with their family; they were of the Evangelical faith. In the early 1900s, he moved his family to Berwick where he was employed by the American Car & Foundry Company as a carpenter until his retirement. In his last years, his eyesight failed, as did his hearing, making it very difficult for him and for those with whom he lived. He spent his final years living with his daughter Ether in Nescopeck, PA."
