Underwood, Jan 29—One of the saddest and most largely attended funerals that has occurred in this vicinity took place Monday, when Mrs. Elof Hagen, who died last Wednesday from pneumonia, leaving a family of three children, the baby being only three months old and a husband to mourn the loss of a kind and loving wife and mother. The remains were brought from her home west of town to the M. W. A. hall, which was decorated for the occasion in black and white and greens. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Norman of Minneapolis. A quartet of male voices sang a farewell song and after all had taken a last look and bid a last farewell to what was mortal of Mrs. Hagen, the remains were taken to the Frimenigheden's cemetery and laid at rest. That the deceased left a large number of sorrowing friends that wished to show a last tribute, was shown by the immense number of costly flowers which covered the casket. Mrs. Hagen was at the time of her death 38 years. She has lived here since a child and was united in marriage to Mr. Elof Hagen and in that union has lived happily. The scores of friends all join in heartfelt sympathy on behalf of bereaved husband and children; also the sister, Mrs. C. Sylte, who is now the only one besides a brother in Oregon, survivers of a family of twelve. Mr. Holbeek and daughter, Genine, of Moorhead, also Mr. O. Jensen were here to attend the funeral.
