Minister of the German Congregation in Orange County that they

within two months last past had received the Sacrament of Lords

Supper, prayed that they might partake of the benefit of an Act of Parlea

ment made in the thirteenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord

George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and

Ireland King Defender of ye faith &c Intituled [sic] an Act for naturalizi ng

Such foreign protestants and others there in mentioned as are

Settled or Shall Settle in any of his Maties [sic] Colonies in America

Its on their Motion ordered that they take the oath appointed by Act of

paliament to be taken instead of the oath of allegiance & Supremacy & the

abjuration [?] oath and Subscribe the test wch they all Severally did

accordingly between the hours of Nine and twelve in the forenoon &

Its therupon further ordered that ye Clerk give them a Certificate of thei r

having taken the afd oaths & subscribed the Test

Immigrated in 1732


He moved with his family from Germany to America, landing at Philadelphia aboard the ship 'Judith' on 25 Sep 1732. They moved to Virginia in 1734. He was naturalized in 1742. He was a master weaver.

GEDCOM Note

JUN 1685 in came on ship "Loyal Judith" to Phildelphia, stayed a year & went to what is now Madison Co., VA. Built his home on Mulatto Run but it no longer stands.
