Andrew Mark Cuomo (/ˈkwoʊmoʊ/ KWOH-moh; Italian: [%CB%88kw%C9%94%CB%90mo]; born December 6, 1957) is an American lawyer and politician who served as the 56th governor of New York from 2011 to 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, he was elected to the same position that his father, Mario Cuomo, held for three terms (52nd governor). In 2021, Cuomo resigned from office amidst numerous allegations of sexual misconduct. At the time of his resignation, he was the longest-serving governor in the United States still in position.
