My body to be buried in the chauncell of Est Quantock before the picture of Our Lady at the northende of the high awter under the walle there provided; my executrice and overseer to cause a Tombs and a nevve wyndowe to be made there.

- 13. JAMES LUTTRELL, Knt., of Dunster, Somerset, 2nd but eldest surviving son and heir, born about 1426-7 (aged 3 or 4 in 1430). He married by license dated 1450 ELIZABETH COURTENAY, daughter of Philip Courtenay, Knt., of Powderham, Devon (descendant of King Edward I), by Elizabeth (descendant of King John), daughter of Walter Hungerford, K.B., K.G., 1st Lord Hungerford, Speaker of the House of Commons [see DAVIE 12 for her ancestry]. She was a native of Exeter, Devon. They had two sons, Alexander and Hugh, Knt., and one daughter, Jane (wife of George Stewkley). He fought at the Battle of Wakefield in 1460. SIR JAMES LUTTRELL died 17 Feb. 1460/1. He was subsequently attainted. His widow, Elizabeth, married (2nd) by dispensation dated 21 March 1463/4 (they being related in the 2nd degree of affinity) HUMPHREY AUDLEY, Knt., of Carlton, Middleton, and Little Welnetham, Suffolk (beheaded 6 May 1471) [see TUCHET 12.I for issue of this marriage]. She married (3rd) in 1478 THOMAS MALET, Esq. (died 1501), of Enmore and Lydeard Punchardon, Somerset. She died 1 Sep. 1493, and was buried at Dunster, Somerset. . . . . .
- 14. HUGH LUTTRELL, K.B., of Dunster, Somerset, Master of Poundsford Park, Sheriff of Somerset and Dorset, 2nd son. He married (1st) MARGARET HILL, daughter of Robert Hill, Esq., of Houndston, Somerset and Talaton, Devon, by Alice, 3rd daughter and co-heiress of John Stourton, of Preston Plucknett, Somerset. They had two sons, Andrew, Knt., and John, and three daughters, Jane, Elizabeth (wife of William Carent, Knt.) and Eleanor. He was heir sometime before 1480 to his older brother, Alexander Luttrell. He was created a Knight of the Bath at the Coronation of Elizabeth of York, wife of King Henry VII, in 1487. In 1501 he was selected to escort Katherine of Aragon on her arrival in England from Crewkerne to Sherborn. He married (2nd) before Jan. 1508 (date of settlement) WELTHIAN YARDE, Widow of Thomas Drewe and Walter Yorke, and daughter of ___ Yarde, of Devon. SIR HUGH LUTTRELL died 1 Feb. 1521. . . . . .
