Angela Bassett

Angela Evelyn Bassett Vance (born August 16, 1958) is an American actress. She has become well known for her biographical film roles portraying real-life women. Her performance as Tina Turner in What's Love Got to Do with It (1993) (1993) was ranked at #95 on Premiere Magazine's list of the 100 Greatest Film Performances of all time.

Angela Bassett and her husband Courtney B. Vance co authored the 2009 biography, Friends: A Love Story. They have two children.
