Anne was born in 1594.

She married William Lyon at "Harrow on the Hill" in England on July 17, 1615.[3]

According to Hewitt (page 258), Anne and her husband both died in London in 1634.

Disputed Genealogy

This woman should not be confused with Anne Carter, the child of John the Immigrant Carter and Elizabeth Benion. That Anne was under age 21 in 1630 when her father made his will.

Some authors have inferred that Wiliam Lyon, son of Ann (Carter) Lyon and her husband William Lyon, who was baptized at Heston, England, on 23 December 1620, is the William Lyon who emigrated to New England in 1635. However, Anderson notes (Vol. IV, p. 382): "Aside from the correct name and age, there is no particular reason to believe that this baptism does apply to this [man], although it is not impossible." A search in FindMyPast in October 2016 failed to find records for the births, marriage or deaths of William Lyon and Anne Carter, nor any record of the 1620 baptism of a son named William. FindMyPast did have other records from that time period in Heston, St Leonard, Middlesex, including records for some people named Lion or Lions. It's possible that Albert Welles fabricated these people, but it's also possible that the records exist but aren't in FindMyPast.
