About Anna Agnes Angelina Doukaina
Anna Komnene Doukaina (died 4 January 1286), known in French as Agnes, was princess-consort of the Principality of Achaea in 1258–1278 and regent between 1259–1262, during the captivity of her husband, Prince William II of Villehardouin, by the Byzantine emperor Michael VIII Palaiologos. After William II's death in 1278, she re-married to the powerful baron Nicholas II of Saint Omer.
Life
Anna was a daughter of the ruler of Epirus, Michael II Komnenos Doukas (r. 1230–1268), and his wife, Theodora.
6. ANNA KomnenoDoukaina (-4 Jan 1286). Georgius Akropolites records the marriage of "Michaelis…filia sua Anna" and "Achaiæ principe"[123]. Georgius Phrantzes names "Manfredum Siculorum rege et principem Peloponnesi et Achaiæ" as the two sons-in-law of "Aetolorum et Epirotarum despota Michaele"[124]. The Livre de la Conqueste de la Morée records the marriage of “le prince Guillerme” and “la suer dou despot”[125]. The Istoria of Marino Sanudo Torsello records that "il principe Guglielmo" married "Nicephoro…sorella" and that her dowry was "il castello della Liconia"[126]. She adopted the name AGNES. After her first husband died, she received the castles of Kalamata and Khlemutsi for life[127]. The Livre de la Conqueste de la Morée records that, after the death of Prince Guillaume, “la princesses a feme…suer…de Quir Niccifore” married “le baron monseignor Nicole de Saint Omer le veillart, li sires de la moitié d’Estives”[128]. The late 13th century genealogy by Balduinus de Avennis records that "Nicolaum", son of "Bilas", married "Achayæ principissam"[129].
