Anna Mae Yochum

Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Ann Yochum of Rancho Penasquitos, passed away Sunday, November 20th, 2011 at 8:43 pm. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Yochum, and daughter, Michele Johnson. Ann is survived by her Daughter Georgianne Yochum, Daughter Denise Geffre and her husband Duane, Son George Yochum, Daughter Yvette Lane and her husband Roland. Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren; Grand-daughter Georgianne Ciavirella, her son Brandon and daughter Gianna, Grand-son Mike Ciavirella and his wife Renee, their daughter Noelle and son Luke, Grand-son Andrew Johnson, Grand-daughter Ingrid Johnson and her son Christopher, Grand-son Duane Geffre Jr. and his wife Sandra, and their son Nathaniel, Grand-son Angelo Ciavirella, Grand-daughter Anne Poore and her husband Paul and their son Kayden. Ann was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 13, 1927 to Mary Nichols and Louis Wagner. She was one of ten children. Ann worked in a defense plant for the war effort, making valves and gauges for naval ships when she met her future husband, George, on his birthday. They were married in Wilmington, Delaware, just 19 days later, on June 15, 1946. Ann left Philadelphia with her husband George and three daughters and moved to New Jersey where they had a son George and daughter Yvette. Ann and George were very active in the Democrat Club. Ann also lived many happy years in sunny southern California since 1973 with her husband of 54 years. She resided in Rancho Penasquitos where she was liked by all. She sacrificially gave of her time and contributed to as many charities as she could to help those in need. Among Ann's greatest joys in life was her FAMILY! She was always there, ready to take anyone in to help them in their time of need. Her greatest treasures of all though, were her GRANDCHILDREN! Her "Babies" as she called them. Services to be held at The Well in Poway on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery next to her husband, George P. Yochum.
