Ann was tried for "bastardy and infanticide" in Sep 1714 after being seen in the vicinity of an unearthed infant's leg. The story is told in a book chapter entitled "A Parcell of Murdering Bitches". link
The chapter notes mistakenly assumes that Anne was the widow of Joseph Tayloe, when he was actually William Tayloe. In Oct 1715, Joseph complained in Lancaster Co., VA court that his brother William TAYLOE had died, and William's widow, Anne TAYLOE, had cohabited with James BURN and they were "vehemently disposed of fornication and incontinency." James Burn is the same one featured in the book chapter, who she later married.Surprisingly, she was named in Joseph Tayloe's will, as Anne Burn, in 1716.
On 11 Jun 1729, Mary Tayloe was given permission by her mother, Anne Burn, to marry John Loyal [Lyill, Lyall, Lile] Another daughter is Anna Catherine who married Samuel Ball. She and Samuel Ball were administrators of James Burn/Bourne's estate in 1721.
