About Archibald Lindsey
The first of this family in Attica, Wyoming county was Archibald Lindsey, who removed form South Hadley, Hampshire, MA some time during the last century, to settle a home in this locality. Here he lived until his death in 1835, at the good old age of 91. One member of the family think they are Irish descent, probably Scoth-Irish; others say the early ancestor came direct from Scotland, was aged on his arrival and accompanied by brothers; he lived in Warren County, NY Archibald married 3 times and left numerous family behind him, who gradually became scattered through our United States. One son came into possession of the old homestead and died there, and was buried like his wife, beside his father in the family burying ground, in 1875, aged 89. (from "Lindseys of America") Archibald was a Rev. War soldier. In 1827 he removed form Warren county, NY to Attica to make his home with his son Kiliab.
