About Arthur Lawrence McDeavitt, Sr.
Arthur L. McDeavitt, Sr., 82, of 909 West St., Pittsburgh, PA, formerly of Greenville & Tionesta, passed away at 2:50 am on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Village at Pennwood Nursing Home in Pittsburgh.
Arthur was born in Butler, PA on August 10, 1933 to the late, Frank and Blanche (Piper) McDeavitt.
He attended Butler High School in Butler, PA. Arthur and his wife owned and operated the former "El Conquistador,” which was a restaurant and tavern on Clarksville St. in Greenville, PA. They also owned and operated several Country Fair franchises in Meadville, Cochranton, and Edinboro.
Arthur was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, as well as NASCAR.
He was married to Carol (Black) McDeavitt on November 13, 1962 and she preceded him in death on February 13, 2005.
Arthur is survived by: one step daughter, Valerie McCartney of Greenville; one step son, Neil Williams , and his wife, Shelby, of Oil City; one daughter, Lisa McDeavitt of Florida; one sister, Stella Giroski of Mercer; one brother, Rev. Kenneth McDeavitt, and his wife, Lenora "Billie," of Butler; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by: three sons, Daniel K. McDeavitt, Alan W. McDeavitt, and Arthur "Russ" McDeavitt, Jr., three sisters, Twila M. McNeish, Annie Hines, and Edna Eides, and four brothers, Paul, Floyd, Robert, and Charles McDeavitt.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of: OSBORNE-WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 73-75 Columbia Ave. Greenville, PA 16125. There will be no formal services.
