About Arthur Zaldin
ZALDIN, Arthur Q.C., -Died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, March 26, 2006 at the age of 89. A warm, caring and gentle man, who was adored by all. His strength, wit and kindness will be missed. He was highly regarded and respected in the legal profession. He served with distinction in the armed forces in World War II and was a prisoner of war for 9 months. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Anne Gould, Jack Zaldin, Esther Morris, Sam Zaldin, and Florence Fagan. Arthur is survived by his adoring wife of 60 years, the love of his life, Estelle Caplan. He will be greatly missed by his children, Joan and Ted Shapero, and Josie and Shimon Arbel of Jerusalem, who were so fortunate to have had this rare man guiding their lives. Grandchildren Adam, Sari, David, Talia, Rena, Noam and Adina and great grandson Gabriel will recall happy times with their playful and loving Zaidy. His many nieces and nephews have fond memories of their special uncle. Funeral services to be held Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Beth Sholom Synagogue, 1445 Eglinton Ave. W., at 10:30 A.M. Interment Roselawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society at 416-967-5900 or the charity of your choice.
