About August Adamson
AUGUST ADAMSON was born in 1861 in Lilla Boda, Visttorp parish, Västergötland, where his father, Adam Johanson, was a farmer. The son August was also a farmer until he immigrated to the United States in 1886. His first stay in this country was in Round Rock, Texas. After two years he married Edla Carlson, born in Sandsjö parish, the district of Jönköping, in 1871. She is the daughter of Anders Johan Carlson, who was born in Jersnäs parish, Småland, in 1831. She came to this country from Sandsjö in 1882 and in her later years, she lives with her daughter and son-in-law, the Adamsons in Lund. Mrs. Adamson came to this country in the same years as her husband. The Adamsons leased land in several places in Williamson County, moved to Travis County in 1890, lived in New Sweden community for several years and the family belonged to the Lutheran Church there. Mr. Adamson is known as an excellent farmer, and it has never been difficult for him to find good farm to lease. The Adamsons family live in the Swedish Lund colony and belong to the Lutheran congregation in Lund. The children take an active part in the youth organization. This marriage has been blessed with nine children and of which seven are still living
