Barbara Ann Virginia McClintock (Becker)

Barb McClintock age 77, of Dover, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014, in her home, following a brief illness. Born Dec. 24, 1936, in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Mary M. (Contini) Becker. Paul Becker died when Barb was a little girl, and Mary married Harry Hooper, who played a large role in Barb's upbringing. Barb graduated from St. Joseph High School, and was employed by Sears, Roebuck & Co. and Weigand Trucking Co. of Dover, before opening her own business, Barb's Little Shop, from which she retired. She served as treasurer of the former Tuscarawas County Tourist Association. Barb was a loving homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren as well as traveling, antiquing, and collecting and refinishing furniture. Survivors include her two daughters, Terrie (husband, Byron) Bradshaw of Dover, and Cheryl (husband, Eric) Lautzenheiser of New Philadelphia; her son, Gene Rice of Dover; her eight grandchildren, Jesse (wife, Ioana) and Brook Moran, Elijah, Micayla and Drew Lautzenheiser, Zachary, Amber and Taylor Rice; and her lifelong friend, Nancy Schindler of Dover. Besides her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-nine years, Roy Everett McClintock, in 2004. In keeping with Barb's wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no visitation or ceremony.
