Dr. Professor Hermann Widerhofer (3/24/1832 - 7/28/1901) Baron since 1890, 1889 receives the Order of the Iron Crown 1st Class. ...Letter to the Crown Princess Stephanie Archduchess -- The Mayerling archive recently - probably from the collection of Viennese art and book-antiquary Heinrich Hinterberger (1892-1970) - acquired an autograph letter to the Crown Princess Archduchess Stephanie, wife of Crown Prince Rudolf. Archduchess Stephanie has sent the letter at the beginning of 1884 Rudolfs personal physician, Professor Hermann Widerhofer. She asks him to, to procure for her husband, a medication for colds. The handwritten addressed envelope is enclosed --- "Herr Hofrath, Rudolf hat keine Zeit, Ihnen zu schreiben, da er spät, aber sehr zufrieden über die gelungene Jagd zurückgekehrt ist. Er lässt Ihnen vielmals danken dass Sie ihm diese Unterhaltung verschafft haben. Rudolf wird morgen der Gräfin Wimpffen schreiben. Er bittet Sie so bald als möglich Timol zu schicken, da er fürchtet einen Schnupfen zu bekommen. Mit vielen Grüssen Stéphanie Wien, 7. Februar 1884"
