About Betty Jean Taets
Betty Jean Taets, 74, of Geneseo passed away on Thursday November 17, 2011 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday November 23, 20011 at the Vandemore Funeral Home, Ltd., Geneseo. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation for Betty Jean will be Tuesday from 5-7 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the Betty Jean Taets Memorial Fund.
Betty Jean was born February 11, 1937 in Ely Nevada the daughter of Henry and Eva Jessen Mathis. She graduated from White Pines High School in Ely, Nebraska and the Henricker business College in Salt Lake City Utah. She was united in marriage to Francis H. Taets on June 2, 1962 in Las Vegas Nevada. Betty Jean had been employed at IBP in Joslin in the scale house office for several years. She was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, Geneseo Branch, the Helping Hands Diabetic Group, and she enjoyed doing Genealogy, and crocheting as well as traveling.
Survivors include Her husband Francis, 3 daughters Cheryl Taets, Geneseo, Crystal (Tod) Workman, Nutrioso, Az., and Carla (Julius) Chirchir, Phoenix, Az.; 1 son Quentin Taets, Geneseo; Grandchildren Tod Ryan, Ashley, Natalie, Ethan, Dylan Workman, and Taeton Chirchir.
