2. BONIFAZIO (-after 894). The Gesta regum Francorum names "Adalbertus fraterque eius Bonifacius, Hildibrandus quoque et Gerhardus" as the "primores itaque marchenses qui fuerunt Italici regis" in 894[742]. The Annales Fuldenses record the same names in 894[743].
Younger brother of Adalbert II the Rich, marquis of Tuscany. He possibly allied with Berengar of Friuli in 889 against his brother, and fought at the battle of Trebbia.
