About Bron(s) "the Fisher King" (Fictitious Person)

Bron(s) or Hebron. He is a character from Arthurian legend, loosely based on Brân the Blessed, an ancient king. Like so many ancient stories, this story has an historical basis of an existing person, but the story was then embellished through retelling into a mythological allegorical tale with magical aspects.

"Bron(s). Also Hebron. The father of twelve sons by his wife Enygeus, the sister of Joseph of Arimathea, who gave him the Holy Grail. The Didot Perceval says that Brons was the grandfather of Perceval(2) and became the Rich Fisher, begin carried off by angels when he had been cured of his affliction. In orgin it is thought that he might have been the god Brân. Robert de Boron specifically names Brons as the Fisher King, and says that he gained this title as a result of supplying fish for Joseph of Arimathea." (Dixon-Kennedy, 51)

"Hebron. An alternative name given to Brons which is thought to have been the invention of Robert de Boron, who wanted to make Brons sound more Hebrew. Hebron is a well-known name from the Holy Bible, being a place-name in Palestine." (Dixon-Kennedy, 148)
