About Capt. Clough Overton

Captain Clough Overton was killed in ambush at the BATTLE OF BLUE LICKS, when Daniel Boone urged caution in following Indians, who had committed trepidations in Kentucky. Hugh McGary, eventual founder of Evansville, Indiana, rallied the men to follow him after the Indians or be considered cowards. Many good men were slaughtered that day as the British and Indians waited to ambush them!
